STAR Med Tech (LPN or RN) responsible for working with the STAR Program Manager in the delivery of nursing care and overseeing all health concerns within residential program in McClure, PA. Applicant is required to have a current Pennsylvania LPN or RN license. Pay is competitive and based on prior experience.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Be a graduate of Accredited Practical Nursing Program or Registered Nurse Program. Have a current, unrestricted LPN or RN license in the state of Pennsylvania, with one year of prior experience or training required.

Vital Duties:  Duties the employee performs that have a major impact on the delivery of services to our clientele

  • Evaluate nursing activities to ensure patient care and safety, staff relations and efficiency of service. 
  • Documentation of important information and data in a timely and professional manner. 
  • Complete initial nursing assessments and on-going assessments required in the implementation of client care within RTF/STAR program regulations including dental, eye, auditory, labs work, and admission assessments. 
  • Assist in completing P.T. and O.T and dietary assessments on admission and as needed thereafter on all individuals in care.
  • Assist in scheduling appointments with Occupational Health as necessary following assessment of work related illness, injury and significant exposure incident.
  • Participate in group, family, intra-agency, inter-agency community-based or family based meetings as part of the STAR program description requirements as necessary
  • Assist in developing health care plans for the individuals as needed.
  • Address the daily health care needs of the individuals and take the needed action to address the individuals' health problems including physician referrals.
  • Administer the individuals' medication and delegation of this responsibility to authorized personnel.
  • Order drugs, solutions, and equipment from contracted pharmacy, and maintains records on narcotics. Maintain and stock first aide and PPE supplies. 
  • Communicate physician order changes to appropriate staff. 
  • Assist in training all non-licensed staff who administer medications and annual retesting of those staff.

  1. Working with MH/MR Clients
  2. Completing Nursing Assessments
  3. Developing Health Care Plans
  4. Scheduling Medical Appointments
  5. Ordering/Stocking Medication
